The Advocate would like to invite past and present Lambda Literary Award nominees to participate in our Day in LGBT campaign on Tuesday, December 9th.

Advocate‘s fourth annual Day in LGBT is next week, and we are asking our favorite LGBT advocates and influencers to participate. That means you!

There are two ways to join us, and both are easy.

PHOTOS:
On Tuesday, December 9, take a selfie or video of you, your family, or friends doing anything that says something about who you are as a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender person.

Add the hashtag #DayInLGBT along with a short description, and post the photo or video to Instagram or Twitter. (The Advocate’s handle is @TheAdvocateMag on both social media platforms.)

The best photos taken on December 9 will be featured in a “Day in LGBT” photo essay on Advocate.com. Check out some of the photos from last year here.

WORDS:
We’re also running a roundup of written vignettes from the #DayinLGBT. They can range anywhere from a couple of sentences to a few paragraphs, but the idea is to describe an experience from that same day, December 9. Those short essays can be sent to our managing editor at michelle.garcia@advocate.com with “#DayInLGBT” in the subject line.

In past years, advocates like George Takei, Dan Bucatinsky, Cheyenne Jackson, Rep. Brian Sims, and more have helped us show the world what it means to be LGBT, and we hope you will as well!
