Fat & Queer started in 2017 at Queen Mob’s Teahouse as a monthly essay series written by Bruce Owens Grimm detailing his journey towards fat acceptance. Miguel M. Morales, featured as a guest contributor for the series, explores his intersectional fatness through poetry. Now, these fat friends have teamed up for Fat & Queer: An Anthology. This anthology will challenge the negative and damaging representation of fat bodies in popular culture. This anthology will celebrate our bodies, our lives, and present illuminating examples of fat and queer literature.

Guidelines: Bruce and Miguel yearn work featuring fat queer bodies positively and as fully-fleshed fleshy people. Writers submitting work for this anthology must self-identify as both fat and queer. No exceptions. Submitted work must be original and unpublished. Prose: up to 3,000 words. Poetry: up to 3 poems
