NewTown Writers Press is delighted to announce that our annual print publication, Off the Rocks: An Anthology of GLBT Writing, is now accepting submissions for Volume 20.

Off the Rocks publishes poetry and prose (fiction and nonfiction) by the GLBT community and its advocates. For this volume we also invite submissions of short plays, and we are seeking photography and artwork to be considered for the anthology’s front cover as well.

The theme of this year’s anthology is “Coming Out on Stage.” Submissions should explore the GLBT community’s relationship to the performing arts.

How are we presented and represented onstage, as well as backstage? What role has theater played in your life? What roles have you played in the theater? What are the ways in which gays influence and are influenced by the performing arts?

You are welcome to write about all styles of performance: dance, drama, drag, stand-up, musical theater, you name it. Reminisce about a show that made a lasting impression on you, share the details of a play date, or shine a spotlight on the technical aspects of theater. It’s your call—and possibly your callback.

Fiction and non-fiction submissions should be a maximum of 5,000 words. Short plays should be no longer than 10 pages. Reprints are acceptable. We will consider up to three submissions per person.

Please send your work as an attachment in .doc or .jpg format to Editor Allison Fradkin at allisonfradkin [at] aol [dot] com. All submissions will be acknowledged and everyone will be notified of the Editor’s selections.

Contributors will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology upon publication.

The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2016.

I have a short play I think would be appropriate for the upcoming issue of Off the Rocks. However, references to submission seem to loop around, and I cannot find a place on line with a link to post a submission or with an explanation of how and where to submit by surface mail. How does one submit?
