Lambda Literary is thrilled to announce that writer Candice Iloh is the recipient of the 2016 Lambda Literary Home School Fellowship.
The Home School is a bi-annual six-day intensive writing conference for poets interested in radicalizing their poetic craft through a consideration of other art forms (music, dance, visual arts, cinema). While in residency, Iloh will participate in all Home School activities (including readings by Natalie Diaz, Renee Gladman, Jorie Graham and Mira Gonzalez) and choose her choice of workshop leader with one of six core faculty workshop instructors: Timothy Donnelly, Dorothea Lasky, Cathy Park Hong, Tan Lin, Maggie Nelson or Mónica de la Torre. Home School Miami 2016 will be held January 3rd-8th, 2016.
Candice Iloh is a creative writer and artist-educator residing in Brooklyn, NY whose writing has appeared in Fjords Review, The Grio, For Harriet, and elsewhere. A VONA fellowship recipient, Candice also contributes to the Lambda Literary Review and The Black Youth Project. She is a new MFA candidate in Writing for Young People and Poetry at Lesley University and is currently working on her first full-length young adult project in verse. When not writing or teaching, you can find her in a dance class in Bedstuy and at www.becomher.com.
The poet R. Erica Doyle was the 2016 Lambda Literary Home School Fellowship judge.
