Roxane Gay is now the first black woman to write a Marvel comic book. She is teaming up with Ta-Nehisi Coates to expand the Black Panther universe. She will focus on the story of two women from Black Panther’s security team falling in love.

Speaking of nerd culture, Pokemon Go has taken over the world, filling the streets with people staring at their phones. But have you heard of Pokemon Gay?

Last week, the Republicans held their national convention which was as “colorful” as many predicted. The GOP advocated for the use of ” gay conversion therapy”  in their national platform to which Garrard Conley, author of Boy Erased, penned an essay for Time speaking out against the practice.

Next spring, the world will be treated to a musical based on the life of female impersonator Dorian Corey who was made famous in the documentary Paris is Burning.

While Paris presented Corey as a grand dame of the New York ball scene, with legendary one-liners and a lesson in “shade,” she’s perhaps just as (in)famous for the mummified body discovered in her closet after her death.

Though it was badly decomposed, investigators determined the corpse to be that of Robert Worley, and believed it had been dead for about 15 years.

“That part is really intriguing,” says Ritsch. “There is a whole bunch of theories trying to explain it. [Mailman] is exploring his fantasies about what really happened and why.”
