Lisa C. Moore Named Lambda Literary’s Publishing Professional Award Winner

Lambda Literary, the global leader advancing LGBTQ literature, is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2016 Publishing Professional Award. This year Lambda recognizes Lisa C. Moore of RedBone Press.
Lambda’s Publishing Professional Award honors a distinguished individual in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community whose innovative work in the publishing industry promotes and promulgates LGBT literature.
RedBone Press has a record of publishing excellence since 1997, with a mission to publish literary books by LGBT authors of color. The books have been award-winning, and Moore has worked over many years with care and professionalism that is deserving of Lambda’s acknowledgment.
The Publishing Professional Award is selected by Lambda’s Board of Trustees.
“We at Lambda Literary are aware of the fact that the excellence we celebrate every year at the Lammys is made possible by the many publishing professionals who discover and nurture our LGBT books in the publishing process,” said Board of Trustee member Amy Scholder. “Lisa C. Moore’s commitment to LGBT authors of color has enriched the publishing landscape for nearly twenty years. We are so impressed with her contribution, and thank her for her service to our community.”
Lisa will be recognized as the winner of the Lambda Literary Publishing Professional Award at the 28th Annual Lambda Literary Awards ceremony on June 6th in New York City.

Lisa C. Moore
Lisa C. Moore is the founder and editor of RedBone Press, which publishes award-winning work celebrating the culture of black lesbians and gay men and promoting understanding between black gays and lesbians and the black mainstream. Moore is the editor of does your mama know? An Anthology of Black Lesbian Coming Out Stories, co-editor of Spirited: Affirming the Soul and Black Gay/Lesbian Identity, and co-editor, co-compiler and co-publisher (with Vintage Entity Press) of Carry the Word: A Bibliography of Black LGBTQ Books. Moore is also board co-president of Fire & Ink, an advocacy organization for LGBTQ writers of African descent. A former editor of Lambda Book Report, Moore has judged numerous literary awards and speaks at conferences, colleges, and universities about black gay/lesbian publishing. She is a former board member of the Money for Women Barbara Deming Memorial Fund.
