A Note from the New Managing Editor
Forgive me; I live in New York, so marriage has been on my mind.
Have you ever loved a book so much you wanted to marry it? I don’t mean a metaphorical or allegorical love—I mean a literal love. Have you ever felt a passion so strong for a work of literature that it could not be denied? Have you ever felt such a strong sense of passion for a book that you were inspired to put a ring on that novel’s finger, walk it down the aisle, and fly it to Niagara Falls for a romantic honeymoon getaway?
One of the most thrilling aspects of taking on the editorship of Lambda Literary is the opportunity to engage in one of the great passions of my life-the love of literature and the lively dialogue evoked when sharing that love. I am ecstatic that I will have the chance to engage with an entire community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and same gender loving bibliophiles who, like me, just can’t shake those books.
We have a lot planned in the upcoming months for Lambda Literary: assorted new columns, an updated website design, and some thought provoking interviews with some thought-provoking authors. We have a new editor of speculative fiction, the fantastic writer/editor/critic Vince Liaguno. We have two great new interns, Erika Turner and Maia McCormick. We are also adding a cadre of new reviewers and writers to supplement Lambda’s ever expanding voice.
So come along with us. Let’s fall in love.
