Amelia Roskin-Frazeel, a 14-year-old from California and an out lesbian, has begun The Make It Safe Project, which provides schools without resources for gay and lesbian students packages of 10 LGBT-related books. Amelia said:

“When I figured out that a lot of schools didn’t have any resources about what it means to be LGBT or how to come out, I decided that I wanted to help send those books to schools.”

Though the project only began last month, it has already provided packages for several schools across the U.S. To support this worthy cause, visit the Make It Safe Project website and make a donation. All funds received will go to purchasing the book packages. [SheWired]
