Gay BEA: Relevant Events at Book Expo America

Book Expo America, the largest publishing event in the country, is happening May 25-27.  Here’s a rundown of some of this week’s gay literary events at BEA and elsewhere.

Tuesday, May 25
6 p.m.: Barbra Streisand headlines the BEA Opening Night Reception.

Wednesday, May 26
1 p.m.: Queers in History author Keith Stern signs copies of his new book.
2 p.m.: Poet Mark Doty, among others, discusses writing about sex, in a forum sponsored by Granta.
6 p.m.: BEA Happy Hour at Happy Ending Lounge, co-hosted by Feminist Press.

Thursday, May 27
1 p.m.: Tim Gunn of Project Runway signs copies of his new book, Gunn’s Golden Rules.
6 p.m.: The Lambda Literary Awards.

Friday, May 28
7 p.m.: Bi Lines III: A Celebration of Bisexual Writing in Reading, Music & Culture.
