Web Producer, Editor Internships Available: Lambda Literary Foundation
Course Credit Offered
The Lambda Literary Foundation, America’s premier LGBT literary organization, is seeking editorial interns for fall/winter 2012. Interns will have the opportunity to learn the many editorial, production and management skills necessary for any aspiring web producer or editor.
Description
They will cover public book events, poetry readings and network with authors and the writing professionals who contribute to LambdaLiterary.org.
Interns will learn to edit video and audio files, code and format their own work, research photos, line edit articles and features and seed content to other websites and social networks.
Interns are also required to attend and assist with, Lambda Literary Foundation public programs, receptions, and other LGBT book events in New York City including the 24rd Annual Lambda Literary Awards in New York.
Interns will manage their own Editorial section, pitch stories to the chief editor, and build a portfolio of strong writing clips.
Previous experience with HTML, Photoshop, WordPress, and iMovie, or comparable programs, is a plus, but not required.
The position provides an excellent opportunity for those with a working knowledge of these programs to hone their skills and gain valuable experience in the literary and online publishing community.
Time Commitment
Internship is generally 10 weeks 10 hours per week.

Deadline to apply for Winter/Spring is December 20th, 2012.
Course Credit
Interns may receive academic credit as arranged through their educational institution.
This is an unpaid position. A commitment of 10 hours per week during usual business hours is required. Interns will work from the New York satellite office.
