We are not holding a Writers Retreat in 2009. During the spring, we will be developing a new area for emerging writers to interact on our website. For updates about the Retreat and other Lambda Literary programs, please sign up for our email newsletter.

Application Checklist

• Completed application form
• Artistic and biographical statement (see below)
• Writing Sample (Fiction/nonfiction: 25 pages max; Poetry: 10 pages max)
• In the writing sample, put your last name, title, and page number in the document header: Flowers/Poems/Page 1 of 10
• Application fee of $15 (check/money order payable to: Lambda Literary Foundation). NOTE: To use a credit card, make a $15 donation to Lambda Literary Foundation, and we will match the transaction to your application.
• If you are applying for a scholarship, include scholarship request form
• If you want to be informed that Lambda Literary has received your application, enclose a self-addressed stamped postcard.

Key Dates

April 1        Applications must be postmarked by or before April 1, 2008.

June 15       Acceptances mailed on or before this date. Acceptance package
includes full details on housing, transportation, & schedule. Scholarship recipients are notified.

July 1            Deposit ($250) due.
August 1       Final payment due ($1,250).
August 10     Writers Retreat begins.
August 17     Writers Retreat finishes.
