Employment Opportunity at Lambda Literary Foundation

The Lambda Literary Foundation, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for LGBT literature, seeks to fill the position of Lambda Literary Awards Administrator.  Desired qualifications include strong organizational and communication skills with impeccable attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through.  The best candidate will be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and familiar with or able to learn WordPress and other content management systems. 

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Awards Administrator’s duties will include: a) Identifying LGBT books deserving of nomination and verifying that the publisher and/or author have been advised that nominations are open, b) Notifying publishers where their nominated books are to be sent, and the deadlines to send books, c) Selecting, contacting, and enrolling judges for each of the Lambda Literary Award categories, d) Working toward greater outreach with the judge selection process in consultation with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees, e) Organizing and facilitating the judging of the Awards with emphasis on the need for complete confidentiality during and after the judging process, f) Other duties as assigned.

Compensation will be $500/month from mid-August through May, invoiced monthly, plus postal/phone expenses, if any, at the end of the judging period.
