Lambda Literary Foundation, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization advancing LGBT literature, is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $10,000 from the Annenberg Foundation for successfully completing its Alchemy+ Leadership Seminar. The capacity building grant will be used for board and organizational development.

“Those of us who were lucky enough to attend Annenberg’s Alchemy seminars are excited about implementing the organizational practices that will set the Lambda Literary Foundation on solid footing for years to come,” said Sue Greer, LLF’s Board Secretary. “This generous grant will allow us to amplify the benefits of our training by sharing what we’ve learned with our fellow trustees.”

The Annenberg Foundation’s Alchemy+ Program trains nonprofits on best practices in the industry by focusing on helping organizations develop strong communication strategies, implement effective board member cultivation, and strengthen fundraising and planned giving programs.

“In only two years since we started participating in Annenberg’s leadership seminars, Lambda Literary has grown by more than twenty percent,” said Tony Valenzuela, LLF’s Executive Director. “By putting this invaluable training into practice, LLF will continue to do more in the service of our mission to nurture, celebrate and preserve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender literature.”

Lambda Literary Foundation is one of a diverse range of California-based nonprofit organizations receiving support from the Annenberg Foundation.
