World AIDS Day, held on December 1st of each year,  is “an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.”

To observe World AIDS DAY, Open Road Media asked a few noted authors and gay rights advocates to talk about the effects of AIDS/HIV on their lives, their work, and the culture-at-large.
