Chris Colfer fans will be happy to hear that the Golden Globe-winning Glee star, who made his first book debut back in July with The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell (a best-selling children’s book), strikes again with his newest film Struck By Lightning.

As reported by Out:

The film is a flashback story of the last weeks of the life of Carson, who is shown as a determined teenage dreamer who wants bigger things than his small town [can] offer. With a Juno wit and a Mean Girls like style, we see how the unpopular high school senior and his bestie Malerie (played by hilarious Rebel Wilson of Bridesmaids) try to achieve his journalistic goals to get into Northwestern and become a renown writer and an editor for The New Yorker.

The film, written and produced by Colfer himself, will be released on iTunes and On Demand December 19, and is set for release in selected theaters on January 11, 2013. But that’s not the end of the good news. In just a week, a book extension titled Struck by Lightning: The Carson Philips Journal will hit bookstore shelves.
