Susan Stinson reads from ‘Spider in a Tree’

Lambda Contributor, Susan Stinson, reads from her new book Spider in a Tree — about 18th-century theologian Jonathan Edwards. Susan wrote about Edwards in our launch issue in March.
The title of her book comes from the Calvinist preacher’s sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”
It has a pretty famous image of God dangling sinners over the fires of hell, as a person might dangle a spider over a hearth. So I wondered what would happen if the spiders started to speak – what would they say?
