Starz recently reported that the television adaption of Perry Moore’s novel, Hero, will continue as planned, despite the author’s recent death. The novel details the story of a gay teenager struggling with both his sexuality and developing superpowers.

“I have always been enthralled with comic books and superheroes, and I’ve always believed there should be a gay superhero,” Moore wrote on his website. “Not as a joke, not as a supporting character, not as a victim, not as a token, but as a real front-and-center hero.” [MTV]
