The DC Center is proud to host their first LGBT Book Fair on Saturday, August 6th from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The OutWrite Book Fair will be a day chock-full of book readings, book vendors, book discussions, poetry readings and more. There will be both new and used LGBT themed books and magazines for sale all day long. The DC Center will have a number of used LGBT books for sale that day. You can purchase our used books, or bring a food-item to be donated to the Wanda Alston House in exchange for a used LGBT Book. Also, join the DC Center the day before the fair for an open mic night kick off event featuring Perry Brass, Jeff Mann, and Philip Clark.

Founded in 2002, The Center’s mission is to celebrate, strengthen, and
support community among the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) residents and organizations of Metropolitan Washington, DC. The Center, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, achieves its mission by producing community programs and services, by serving as an information clearinghouse for the LGBT community, and by providing “drop-in” computer and meeting room services.  The DC Center is located at 1318 U Street NW, Washington DC, 20009.

The OutWrite Book Fair is proudly sponsored by the Lambda Literary Foundation, Book Men DC, GLOE of the DC Jewish Community Center, Bet Mishpachah, Rainbow History Project, White Crane Institute, and the Capital Area Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
