Last August, the Lambda Literary Foundation launched its most ambitious project to date: a week-long intensive residency for 22 emerging writers. This year, 32 carefully chosen and highly promising students will participate in workshops with Rigoberto Gonzalez, Claire McNab, D.A. Powell, Elana Dykewomon, Katherine V. Forrest, and Eloise Klein Healy. In addition, they will benefit from presentations by literary agents and publishers.
We have more requests for financial aid than we are able to grant.

 Your tax-free donation, given at this vitally important time, will not only support an individual writer, it will enable Lambda Literary to pursue this historic initiative.
Here are some of the diverse stories you can help our emerging writers share with the world:
- a lesbian coming of age in Jamaica and migrating to the United States
- a Native American gay man returns home to face his past
- a memoir of survival by a working class lesbian from the midwest
- the story of the South Bronx through the eyes of a young queer Latino man
- a novel of Chinese and Indian queer immigrants
- creative essays by a "queer, white, femme dyke, sex worker and academic,"
- a mixed race man traces his journey from "transphobe to transgenera," and many more.
Every contribution is important, and here are some possible levels of support and what your gift will make possible:
$40 - Meals for 1 day for 1 person
$89 - Accommodation for 1 night for 2 students
$250 - 1 Travel Voucher for 1 emerging writer
$280 - Meals for 1 week for 1 person
$700 - Room and Board for 1 week for 1 emerging writer
In addition, we have general costs, including liability insurance ($1,000), van rental ($500), printing costs of curriculum and manuscripts ($250). A general donation to help offset these costs would be very welcome.
