Lambda Lit Book Club

Welcome to the Lambda Lit Book Club, the queerest book club in LA! A program of Lambda Literary and co-sponsored with the West Hollywood Library, this book club highlights an eclectic mix of LGBTQ literature including classics, unheralded gems, and buzz-worthy new releases.

Discussions are led by Lambda’s Executive Director, Tony Valenzuela, or guest facilitators.  When possible, Lambda Lit invites book club selected authors to discuss the book in person. The Lambda Lit Book Club meets the last Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8:30 pm in the West Hollywood Library Community Room.  For more information contact us at

Remember, book club selections are available to check out at the West Hollywood Public Library.

In March we welcome guest facilitator, Chris Freeman, Associate Professor of English at USC, to lead the discussion of the novel, A Single Man, by Christopher Isherwood.  Freeman has recently edited (with James J. Berg), The American Isherwood (Jan 2015), a collection of essays which consider Christopher Isherwood’s diaries, his vast personal archive, and his published works.  One of the chapters is on A Single Man.  We hope you will read it as well.
